SAP Demonstrated OPC UA Link at PLCopen - OPC Foundation Booth

The vision of connecting real-time control devices directly to enterprise systems was demonstrated in the OPC Foundation  - PLCopen booth.  SAP as major force in the ERP market demonstrated their solution “SAP plant connectivity” to link to the shop floor equipment with OPC UA integrated. In this way, a transparent factory is shown without the huge engineering effort normally needed.  Dr. Arne Manthey (Product Manager, SAP AG): stated, "OPC UA allows an easy and secure connection of SAP business systems with distributed shop floor data”.
